After a few thousand miles I usually change the oil in the differentials. I do usually change the oil after 1000 miles are so in case there is any left over debris when they casted and assembled the engine. I got about 350 pretty hard miles on it so far. The thicker gauge enables the grounding system to quickly clear any faults. This satisfies NEC standards for proper grounding up to a 100 amp service. The chart shows the allowable ampacities for different types of conductors and ambient temperatures, including 30C (86F) and 100C (194F). So once I got it back I put it through it's paces, lol! A bunch of hard take offs and ran about 20-30 miles going about 85-90 MPH watching the ATF and TC temps. The recommended 100a copper wire size for an effective grounding conductor at a 100A service size is 4 AWG. Find the correct wire size for 100 amp service based on the wire size chart and the maximum ampacities of insulated conductors rated up to and including 2000 Volts, 60C through 90C. He had Tech stream running, when it got to the correct temp he removed the ATF level check plug and NOTHING came out! He slowly introduced ATF until it was at the proper level. He had a camera recording the whole process to show me what all he did. According to the National Electrical Code (NEC), it is recommended to utilize 8-gauge aluminum wire when installing a 100-amp electrical service. I told the service department I was dropping it off and not coming pick it back up until Ben checked the ATF level! I finally went to another dealership where I know one of the Toyota Master mechanics. ![]() I told the idiots to check the ATF level! They didn't want to spend that much time on it, so they ran all their tests and did "test drives" etc and kept saying it was fine. I installed my Scangauge 3 and the TC temp was too high for me. ![]() Since then it's been back to the dealership several times! It didn't feel like it was shifting right and the torque converter seemed like it wasn't staying engaged like it should. ![]()
